Install the app
by following the simple steps detailed in the Atlassian documentation.
The app consists of two modules:
the Dependency Viewer, available for all projects under the project menu, as a report for non-JSD projects and as a dashboard gadget.
the Epics Summary, available for software projects under the project menu.
Dependency Viewer?
Dependency Viewer allows you to instantly view related tickets, investigate, identify possible problems and cycle dependencies. It works for all kinds of projects, not just software ones.
Starting with Dependency Viewer is easy:
Click on the Dependency Viewer icon in the projects left navigation panel, added it as gadget on a Dashboard or navigate to it via a project Reports .
Use a Jira filter get the tickets you want to examine. For more details on creating customized filters, see the detailed Atlassian documentation.
You will see all issues listed. To access dependent ones, simply click on the left of each issue.
How to open Epics Summary?
This simple additional tool allows you to see efforts sum, details and progress of epics together with the linked task and sub-tasks. Note that the Epics Summary is only suited for software projects.
Click on the Epics Summary icon in the left navigation panel.
Open your Jira Kanban or Scrum board. You need to have at least one to start using the Epic Summary.
You will see all Epics listed. To access all tasks and sub-tasks details, simply click to the left of each Epic.
At the bottom of the menu you can select Issues without epics and get all such issues listed.
